Doreen M. Parekh serves as a Team Leader, Financial Services at US Department of Commerce. She has over 15 years of federal government experience formulating negotiating positions, supporting Senior Officials, leading technical analysis, coordinating cross-functional experts, and engaging stakeholders. Doreen has extensive experience working closely with U.S. and foreign officials abroad and in Washington, DC to promote commercially beneficial outcomes. She also has significant experience of briefing high-level officials and conducting written/oral policy recommendations.
Doreen Parekh was hired as an International Trade Specialist at the US Department of Commerce in 2005.
She received her Bachelor’s degree and master’s degree from the School of International Services (SIS).
Ken Rosenberg, SVP & Manager, International Banking Department at Bridge Bank, has over 30 years of experience in international banking and trade finance. He has been responsible for managing and growing Bridge Bank's International Banking Group, which includes foreign exchange and currency hedging, letters of credit and export/import working capital lines of credit. Ken has held executive-level positions at several international banking and trade finance firms. He has conducted business in over 35 countries, and has worked across a broad range of industries including technology, clean energy, and logistics. Additionally, Ken has extensive experience in the creation and delivery of international financial products and services, having developed the concept of using trading company techniques to finance international trade transactions. Prior to joining Bridge Bank Ken was Vice President of Trade Services at Wells Fargo and was also founder and Chief Operating Officer of Lightning Trade Group, LLC, a management consulting firm specializing in structuring innovative supply chain financing.
Rod Hirsch is the Director of the Oakland Export Assistance Center with the US Commercial Service. The U.S. Commercial Service, a part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, promotes the sale of US products and services around the world. Prior to coming to Oakland in the fall of 2000, Rod worked for two years as an International Trade Specialist in the Export Assistance Center in Long Beach, California. Rod is also an active member of the Environmental Technology Team and the Agribusiness Team. He has served on temporary duty assignments in the Commercial Section of the U.S. Embassies in London, U.K., Abidjan, Ivory Coast and Accra, Ghana. Rod had been appointed to be the Deputy Regional Commercial Officer serving francophone West Africa out of the U.S. embassy in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, but was canceled due to conditions in the country.
Prior to working with the U.S. Department of Commerce, he worked for the City of San Antonio, Texas as an International Affairs and Trade Specialist. Rod promoted bilateral trade between Mexico and the City of San Antonio, as well as overseeing the Sister Cities Program. While pursuing his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Texas, Rod worked as a graduate student intern at the International Trade Center, part of the Small Business Development Center, and the City of San Antonio's International Affairs Department.
